The more I shoot photos for people, the more I realize how much I love the process. From the planning phase to delivering a gallery, the whole thing gets me jazzed.
I also started to realize, the more I took photos, that sometimes my couples had a strict sense of their session should be like. They would become rigid, dull, or straight up awkward. Of course if you're like most people, having a camera pointed at you increases the feeling of awkwardness tenfold. My mission then became making couples feel as comfortable as possible around the camera. If you know me, you know I can be pretty goofy (sorry to my amazing wife for putting up with me), which helps to ease tension and create a relaxed atmosphere for you.
I spend hours and hours... and hours working on my sessions. When you book with me, you're more than a client, you're a pal for life. There's something special about shooting someone's engagement, their wedding, their maternity photos, and then their family. I am so honored that I get to play a part in capturing your life and showing your story to the world. If any of this resonates with you, you should probably work with me! And if you don't want to be friends, that's fine too... you might just need to choose a different photographer (jk kinda).
I don't limit myself to one type of photography. Sometimes wedding photographers go with the label of "photojournalist" "editorial" "documentary" and the like. No shade, but that's not me.
You probably want a wide variety of pictures you can cherish in different ways. Of course you need some that you can print, some you can post on social media, some you can look back on and think "Who's that guy in the background?"
But seriously, with this approach, you will have such a vast array of photos, you'll have to get creative to use them all!
